Southern Highlands Golf Club is a private eighteen-hole golf course and the most affluent neighborhood in the Las Vegas metropolitan area, considered to be one of the finest in the United States. The golf course was co-designed by Robert Trent Jones and his son Robert Trent Jones, Jr.[1]; it was the elder Jones' final work and only one of four courses they designed together. Often considered the "Bel Air of the Desert", it is home to numerous actors, actresses, sports stars, and billionaires who have set up permanent and secondary residency within the golf club.
It is the wealthiest of three adjacent neighborhoods known as the "Diamond Hills" that are generally regarded as the most lavish in the immediate Las Vegas area.
The country club hosts the Governor's Black Tie Invitational, which raises over $1 million annually for local charities.[3] In October 2007, the course was named "One of the Top Residential Golf Courses in the United States" by Golf Digest magazine. The club has hosted two PGA Tour events.[4]
